Look, I am not going to keep going back and forth here, over my Plasma being better than another one. But if you want me to mention a few facts, then I will mention the only one that mattered to me, when I finally pulled the trigger. After seeing the plasma I mentioned, I called my best friend, who owns and runs SpectrumAVS(Audio Visual Systems in Virginia). He had, and still does, almost 100% pro installs, has done many installs in the Smithsonian in Washington DC, and still to this day, has his pass, and does a majority of the A/V installs, at the Pentagon. He is online with every major electronics manufacturer there is. Which gives him access to just about everything there is in both Pro and Consumer electronics, not to mention the fact that he gets to audition anything thats ABOUT to come out, months before it hits the shelves, if he so desires. Anyway, I told him about the plasmas I looked at, and he too, liked the Pioneer Elite, the Panasonics, and the Sammys. I told him I saw the Sammy (FP T6374) with the others, and I loved it, and the price was a bit much for me at the moment. Well to my surprise, he was "Hooked up" with one of his vendors that just got the new T6374, and he could get a great discount. I paid exactly $5160.00 including delivery, and I was the first "Kid on the Block" to have one of these in his house. (About a month before it was available in retail stores)
My friend made sure he was there the day it came to my house. He got it out of the Box in like 2 minutes, we both moved it to where it sits now (minus the mount at the time), and he connected the new HD cable box that i had installed a week before, to my new Plasma.
Since he was the one responsible for me being able to get this big bad boy, at an unheard of price at the time, I left him alone to channel surf, and fine tune everything. After about 2 hours in my new HT room by himself, I went in there and he simply turned and looked at me and said, "This is the BEST Flat Panel I have ever installed" , "the only thing I would change is the shiny bezel because you'll notice it somewhere down the road". Now, you can talk about your different reviews, in all the different magazines, and on all the different websites, but when a friend from my highschool days (82), who's been at the forefront of A/V for over 20 years now, makes a comment like that to me, after doing hundreds of installs, putting together at least a dozen different Clubs all over the U.S., does work for the Pentagon, is sought after constantly, you kind of feel that the BUCK has truly STOPPED THERE.
I like my plasma too, by the way. Joe B.
