Hi everyone:)

First time posting. I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to front projector jargon and the whole bit. I tried to use the search function but didn't come up with an answer that I was looking for. So if this has been covered forgive me.

Any how. My question is I already have HT system but lacks in the display area. After initially reading a couple links and forums I realized a projector would be my best bet. However after reading and digging more deeper, come to find out this front projector thingy is much deeper than I thought:eek: . I can say for certain at this point I'm so confused and lost.

My living room is 16'x13' with 8' high ceiling. My couch is situated up against the wall so I’m about 15' from the opposite wall were the screen will go. I will be getting the Optoma H31 and going with inverted ceiling mount. I'm just not sure what is the distant from the ceiling to hang the projector.

Oh! I'm also thinking about getting the Panoview DS-9106PM screen with a viewing area of 52"x92" about 102" diagonal.

Please any help is greatly appreciated.
Best regards WK

12.7' to 15.4' from the front of the lens to the screen.

The screen must be mounted about 18" below the center of the lens for the image to project square on the screen without using digital keystone correction. So, if your projector is flush to the ceiling, and the center of the lens is about 4 inches from the ceiling, the top edge of the screen must be about 22" from the top of the ceiling.

Info about projector with a link to the users manual:

If you will be doing a lot of HD viewing then I would step it up to a $2K projector like the AE900 or Z4 in a heartbeat.

Obviously, if you haven't spent a couple of hours (or more) reading there then now is a good time to go to http://www.projectorcentral.com for some more info and forum advice. (other advice here is great as well)
