since you are all masters on here I was hoping i could get some clarification as to which is preffered and why?

also the sound setting has dolby virtual speaker reference
dolby virtual speaker wide
or just stereo sound

which is a good setting here?

i watch a lot of movies and blu rays

thanks a lot everyone, i appreciate the feedback!

Tone defeat just turns off the bass and treble controls.....

as jamie pointed out the Tone defeat, defeats the tone controls. The idea is you get a cleaner signal path without having to send the signal through the potentiomenters (same thing as a volume control) which are known to degrade signal quality.

Whatever sound mode you should choose is whatever sounds best to you. Most people just leave it on stereo or direct or whatever and dont use those EQ'd sound things some components have.
