I am thinking about up grading to a Integra 7.8, from my Denon 2805. They let me take the Integra home for 24hours to see if I want to buy it. It does sound slightly better then the Denon, and I love all the listening modes. But it only has two inputs for optical (in the back),and I have two CD players and my Sat HD receiver calls for an optical input as well. So my question is would HDMI cable that encludes audio, sound as good as optical audio. I am using componet video right now, (thats why I am using there optical output)look just as good as HDMI cable to me. I did notice they have a AXU input on the front of the receiver, I guess for games, could I use this input fulltime for my TV audio??? Hope I made myself understandable, I am really nervous about buying this new receiver. And I am being rushed.

HDMI and Optical will both carry the full audio signal from the satellite receiver with no audible difference. This will also simplify your connection scheme and you can benefit from the Reon HQV scaler on SD programing from your satellite service.

Seth, a personal Thanks, that is what I was hoping to hear!! BTW, I did try a Onkyo 875 against my Denon and it was not as good sound quality, but the Integra is a winner! I am so greatfull for this site and I know many others are also, you have helped so many people!! Thanks!!!
