EdmMike, what exactly doesn't look good to your eyes. Since it is your TV you should adjust it however you think it looks best.
To my eyes, that set looks best in cinema mode with the brightness/contrast and other adjustments set using a calibration disc. Some may find that this looks dim at first but live with it for a few days and it will look normal. My experience with that TV tells me that the color settings are really close in cinema mode and need little to no adjustment.
I would turn off any "enhancements" as they really do not help and tend to add unnecessary artifacts. Don't turn the sharpness control up too high either as this has a negative effect.
What setup DVD do you have? My preferred disc is
DVE. The DVD version is difficult to navigate but the Blu-Ray version is much easier.
