Please Help Me Decide Which Receiver

I am looking to get set up with a new surround sound system, but don't know much about receivers, speakers, etc. Please help!

I have a Sony SXRD tv, 2 R10 dvrs, 1 DTV HD-dvr, Oppo 981 dvd player, nintendo wii, and playstation 3 and want a receiver that will be able to handle all of that with possible future additions. As for the setup I want to plug everthing in to the receiver then run a single hdmi to the tv. It will probably be used only for surround sound on movies and tv, I don't think I will be listening to music; but I think that I would like the upconversion feature.

After reading different forums and websites I initially thought that I needed the Denon 4806CI, but now I think that is probably overkill for my needs. Now I am looking into the Yamaha 2700 and the Sony5200. In your opinion are those decent receivers, do you have any different recommendations? Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Both the Yamaha and Sony look very good. The Yamaha converts video to 720p/1080i, while Sony claims upconversion up to 1080p. It's something to check into.

Hey, nice call. This one has 4 HDMI inputs and Faroudja video processing and 140w x 7 for the same retail price. It converts video to 1080i, but I would trade the extra HDMI input this one has for upconversion to 1080p. I don't know how important that is to the original poster. I think I'd pick this of the one's listed so far.
