So I have the receiver set up the way it sounds amazing, I just have 2 questions, and I swear that I almost memorized the Manual, I have read it at least 10 times, so I apologize in advance if this is in the manual, I just don't know what else to do, so My GF likes to listen to radio while I am at work, and push on the tuner button on the remote and I get no sound at all, when I hit status button on the actual receiver it shows the following Zone 2 off, Tuner zone 2, I am not sure if I mistakenly selected zone 2 for the tuner but I have tried pressing zone 1, turn the receiver on and off, etc and I still can't get it to work, I hear nothing at all, I switch the bands (AM, FM, etc) and I still get nothing, also I have a 5.1 should I hook up my speakers for the rear in Surround back or just surrond, my speakers aren't behind me they are actually next to me. thank you for your help in advance guys and gals.

have you tried to go back into avr set-up menu maybe you've assigned the tuner for playback in zone 2 just re-assign your tuner. Or are you saying that even when you switch to zone 2 for tuner playback you get no audio that I can't explain.

I tried going back to the menu, and the only option it gives me for assigning the tuner it's for presets, that is all, I don't know where else to look, I've tried the manual as well as the Menu several times. I gave up on it already, I was so frustrated that I will get to it later on.

As far as I know the only way to reset the tuner to factory default is to reinitialize the receiver processor and that will set all the receiver defaults back to as it was when came out of the box. Everything gets wiped out, auto eq, speaker settings and so on. I can empathise about the tuner usability, it's horrible. Unfortunately I have no other ideas for you and take it with a grain of salt since I listen to only one station and even to get that was a huge PITA.

Has the tuner worked in the past and now suddenly doesn't work?

If it never worked at all, do you have an antenna connected? Many receivers won't work at all without at least a basic antenna connected. My receiver requires that you set the pre-sets first - you cannot use the remote to tune stations until you have pre-set some stations, although you can use the tune up and down buttons directly on the front panel of the receiver.

The surround speakers should be connected to the 'surround' jacks. 'Rear surround' is for the 6th and 7th speakers for a 7.1 setup.

Try turning the Zone 2 off. That should cause the receiver to route the Tuner to Zone 1. Also try Denon tech support.

I wouldn't get sound from my 2800 if my ext out wasn't turned off or my tape 2 wasn't turned off also. Your 2807 may be different.

Remote switches......

You may have a switch in the wrong position.
I have remote RC-978 for my 1906AVR. It has two small switches near the center of the remote control. One switch is(mode1) audio/video, the other switch(mode2) controls accessory devices plus zone2.
If you have a similar remote...... most likely, make sure you are in
"audio" mode not video.................
* my mode2 switch (4positions)works in audio for all but the 'zone2' position.
Try switching between the 'CD' and 'tuner' buttons(yellow). Your display should show you 'Cd-in' and 'tuner-in' when you switch with the remote.
You don't need any presets...... use your +/- buttons to change stations for am/Fm.
Its probably one of those stupid small(black) switches........
Jk.

I agree about stepping away from it for awhile. Did you buy it locally? I once had a setup problem with a receiver and I drove over to the dealer so he could show me the steps using the demo unit at the store. It took the dealer guy a bit of time to figure it out himself.

thank you, I play around with it some more, and it finally kicked in, it was the Mode that wasn't in the right selection, I was sitting there enjoying my sweet sound of "NOISE" (no reception) for like 2 minutes when my GF walked downstairs and said "why are you so happy?, there is nothing but distortion", I replied that is the sweet sound of persistence. thank you all for your help.
