"Please charge battery now"

We live in a home built in 1999 that has multi-room audio. Today, out of the blue, the in-ceiling speakers in the dining room began to announce in fairly frequent intervals "Please charge battery now." The volume remains the same even if I try to reduce it (which generally I can do from nob in the room.) The speakers are not currently connected to any source. I do not know the brand. We have a 12' high ceiling which adds to the challenge of understanding the problem.

Anyone out there know of speakers that might do this? and have tips on charging the battery? (?)

Sounds like the speakers are all connected to a processor / amplifier of some kind that has a built-in battery for memory. If it’s not charging, that would mean it needs to be replaced.

Thank you so much for your kind replies...Hubby came home and solved the mystery. Hidden beneath papers on the dining table was a Bose Bluetooth speaker. The noise was loud and echoed - I assumed it was from the ceiling ‍♀.
