Congrats!
You now have about 8 months to kid-proof your audio gear. Back when my kids were little, I moved my receiver into a cabinet with doors. I modified the door handles to accommodate one of those plastic locks that looked similar to an old bicycle lock:
Once when I left the lock off, my 2½ year old son jumped at the chance, and pressed every button and twisted every knob there was on the receiver. His older sister admonished him by saying "that's Daddy's toy". But she never told on him. The next time I pressed the power button, I got the worst earful of noise I ever heard. He had turned up the volume and all the tone control knobs all the way to MAX.
This was in 1987 and the receiver was from the 1970s when there were plenty of knobs, buttons, lights, and dials. Modern AVRs are different, but don't let him get to it, or your remote, so he can "modify your settings"
