I bought a yamaha HTR/5740 the salesman said i could i could hook up my sansui AU-717 AMP TO apreout witch i cant locate also i dont have any instructions to sansui there is a switch on its(sansui) rear that says(pre power amp) that has 3 positions (connected,direct coupled,capacitor coupled)i do not no what this is any help appritiated thanks g

The 5740 has no preouts. If you wish to use an external amp you will need to move up to the 5760 or more recently the 5860.
