Playstation 3 No Sound Through Hdmi Connection

I have this setup :
LCD - Toshiba Regza 32" WL66ZSG1080i
RECEIVER - Onkyo TX-SR505E
SOURCES - Toshiba SD-370E , Playstation 3
SPEAKERS - Center MAGNAT Monitor C210
Surround MAGNAT Monitor 110
Standfloor MAGNAT Monitor 990
SUB - MAGNAT Betasub 30 A
APC - SurgeArrest® Performance
WIRES/INTERCONNECTS - Belkin,Bandridge
and 2 problems:
-when i try to play dts music from cd-dts i get only white noise
-and 2nd and the most important i get no sound through HDMI only via tosslink wich has a lower bandwidth and it is also an unprotected link, restricting output of high bandwidth and protected audio (no 88.2kHz and 176kHz options too)
My receiver is a tx-sr505E Onkyo (if you missed that)
Please help me out,i really want to get all the best of them.

Well first of all, that receiver does not process audio from HDMI.

When you play DTS are you using analog connections or optical? If the DVD/Blu-ray settings are set to output DTS both analog and optical connections will carry DTS (as well HDMI).

You have to upgrade to the 605 to get MPCM over hdmi. Or if you are looking for something cheaper that can do it you can go for the Sony STR-DG810.

the HDMI in that receiver is only a switch, not a repeater... you will have to go up to at least the next model to be able to get audio via hdmi.

I have to stick to my optical for now ... i just bought the receiver so i guess that's it.
Otherwise i'm very pleased about the performance of it.

Since you just bought it can't you return it? Did you get a CC? I think they have extended return policy right now if you bought after Nov 1st.

Unfortunately in Romania i can not...
There is no such thing like return or refund policy,you bought it ... it's yours ...
