Reuters Story out regarding Sony's attempt to take the Playstation 2 to the next level. With 40 million installed units, Sony is poised to offer a competitive consumer electronics device to serve as a hard disk recorder to compete with TiVo and the like.
What I find interesting is the large installed base and the competition it will pose to Microsoft, who is also trying to get into the "digital hub" sector of the market.
I always support competition and would welcome these companies to hawk their wares to the public - let the best products excel. And we'll be here doing the reviews when the units are available.</font>
