play station 2

I have playstion 2 in a closet with my home theater. I also have wireless controls and they cannot see the ps2.The controls work off of a ir signal. What do i need to make this work ?Any suggestions?

Do you have the logitech brand black, 3.2 GHZ set? Because if you do they pass through pretty much everything that has been in front of them, if you dont i suggest you upgrade them to the Logitechs, http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/US/EN,crid=2276.
