Very tempting but I don't have a HD dvd player yet. The A-30 is on sale for $130. Is that a good price? Or should I get the A-35 for $160? Thanks.

Amazon has it for $230 shipped. I will definitely buy it when it drops below $200. Main reasons: a nice upconvert dvd player, cd player and HD dvd player.

The $169 deal for the A35 at TD (with Bourne, 300, A13 and TD...+ 5 mail in) died this morning. Ya snooze, ya lose. The supply is going down, and with it the deals. I think either one at those prices is a great deal, especially with 7 movies. Get the lead out!!! :):) Cheers, John

Thanks for the heads up, John. Just ordered it. Also note that I called CS for Discovery about the five off. I was told when you list your email address on the order form, you get five off your NEXT purchase and not on the intial one. If you know how to get five off the intial purchase, please link or post it;)

Clint, you're a dirty dog! :p;)

At the end of the day, bits are bits, and HD is HD. Planet Earth is one of those reference disks I think I will see more than once. For those of you who do not enjoy nature (and I am not talking about the natural tendency for HD to DIE :p), this is not your cup of tea. But to see the four corners of the Earth in HD glory...for $24.99, is well, but another wonder of the world. Let the HD bargains roll on, and the johnnie-come-latelies and never-to-be's wallow in their misery whilst we enjoy HD for pennies on the dollar. :)

Betamax. Sheeesh. If only Clint and Audioholics existed back then...I would have liked to have witnessed it. :)

Go ahead and laugh it up, but it's been viewed 190 times to date. Of course, 180 may have been AH members:p I still use my Beta machine on occasion. When we divided my uncle's house a year ago I asked for his Betamax and 100 or so tapes.;) Call me a dinosaur, I don't care.
Besides: upcoverted on my 92" screen it looks almost as good as HD!

Jeff, you're a funny comedian too! :p

I will happily pay you $169.00 for it...IF:

1) you include shipping and tax,
2) nine HD movies, and
3) mod it to play HD, SD (@ 1080p/24Hz) and CD with a Reon chipset...or at least the ABT 1080. :D;)

SOLD!

Up-converting 250 lines is almost 'as good as hd' ? LOL ;)
I thought that would get a few laughs:D:p Seems that nearly everyone says that about anything that's upconverted, hence the joke;)
