Ok,
I am still stuck with an old school 32 inch CRT sony. It did the job for a while but now it's time to make the leap. The room that my tv is going to be is about 20X20 it's a living room/dining room combo all open. So I am consdiering sizes between 52-65 inch. The only concern I have is that I have 4 big bay windows in front that bring in lots of sunlight in the early morning, but this will be fixed with window treatments.
I know the new oled technology is coming out if it isn't out alreday and is supposed to be much better than standard lcd. If I had to make my decision right now to buy a TV it would be a plasma b/c they have a better refresh rate. I am into sports and watch a lot of sporting events. I also want to mount my TV to the wall so it seems my options are limited to plasma or flat panel lcd.
My problem is when I go into a store and I see a bunch of tv's, I cannot tell the difference between them. I would need to have one on at a time.
I get a very nice discount at a local retalier since my company has a corporate account with them. Plus the company would lay out the cost and take it out of my check until it's paid at 0% interest.
My friend bought the new 50 inch panasonic last year around xmas time and for the money he said it was a great tv with a very good refresh rate.
The brands I like are panny, sony, samsung and sharp aquas. Do all these brands have similar features when comparing plasmas such as refresh rates and hdmi ports, etc? And price wise would they be similar?
any advice would be appreciatd
