placing setup in a room w/o climate control

im contemplating placing my setup in a room with no heat, or AC (heats prob more an issue) its winter here and it can get somewhat cold, i'm wondering if that would damage my receiver or speakers when i go to actually listen to music (since the components would experience a decent amount of temp change) if so what are some things i can do to help protect them? it wont get to like freezing temperature just like 50s. also what would be more likely to be affected, the amp, or the speakers? also another concern is the room is somewhat humid. its basically a room that is not well sealed off to the elements.

i had a separate setup down there last summer, but i was using some small cheap bookshelf's that i wasn't to worried about ruining, they still work perfect though, the receiver also didn't seem to have any issues.

Well I would not put ANYTHING in a non climate controlled room.It will cause rust inside the stereo because it will be cold and then the amp will warm up and you will have condensation inside your gear.Do what you will but IMO its a bad idea.

i contemplated leaving the amp on 24/7 though, meaning no temp change

i guess my question is would leaving it on solve the problem and would the temperature do anything to the speakers

Temperatures won't be your main problem - as pointed out above - the humidity will. I doubt your speakers will enjoy a long life if the humidity is real high.

I'm still trying to figure out how you will be watching a movie in a room that is in the 50s - and high humidity to boot - with any modicum of comfort.
