Placing Main Speaker on top of Sub?

Hi,
I have a very small living room, which is now smaller with the new 42" plasma delivered yesterday. I've got this all set up and really have no where for my sub.
I tried it under an endtable and it hides there well until you look closely and realize the table is 2" off the floor! I don't think I can live with that.

My front speakers are tall AR Tower style speakers, and one of these would sit perfectly on top of this subwoofer.

Is that bad? It doesn't seem right, and it doesn't look right, but I'm at the point where it's that or buy a new much smaller subwoofer. (I bought the smallest one B/W made to match my other surround speakers)
HELP!
thanks

I don't see why not. It may not be the ideal place for a speaker, but if that's the only place for it, put it there. The only issue would be the speaker eventually being vibrated off the top of the sub, but the cabinets of each are hopefully well designed so that should not be an issue.

yeah, the speaker on top is close to 4' an Acoustic Research... it's heavy enough not to vibrate off... I don't watch anything that loud anyway.
I was just worried if it might affect the speaker.
If no one can give me a good reason not to try it, I'm going to put it up there and see how it goes...
thanks!

A good sub should be the only thing in the room NOT vibrating! Other than raising your tower up too high and damaging the soundstage and imaging, I don't see a problem. I've often thought it would be cool to get too tall bookshelf speakers and use two subs as stands. Talk about full range

Hay, that's what I am planning on doing.... when I have the money to afford it; two 15" and new speakers all around won't be cheep. :(
I'll let you know how it goes.
