Placement Options?????

Hello folks I have another question. Can a sub be placed in a closet since bass is at least in theory non-directional? If so, can the door to the closet be closed or would it be better to leave it open? As some of you know, I just recently moved and as such my new ht room is very small. Hence, space is a major concern. Here are a few pics so you can see where I would like to place my Mirage Omni S10. There is plenty of room to put my S10 in the closet. Keep in mind, however, this is a front-firing sub but has down-firing ports. Feel free to elaborate as all feedback is much appreciated.

I don't think it's a good idea, since, even with the door open, it's still in a small space, with very close walls on three sides of the sub. Low frequencies are non-directional, but the small space will reinforce those low frequencies, and you'll have booming, muddy bass that will probably not sound very good. Try it out; who knows -- it might sound okay to you, but I think most would still suggest you place the bass out in the open, if possible.

cheers,

Hi super for posting. I do believe you are correct. One thing I can NOT stand is boomy, un-controlled, muddy/sloppy bass. Will look for other solutions.
