Placement of Sub-woofer

I'm in the process of remodeling my house, and we probably have to enclose my sub-woofer in a new wall/cabinet that will be built. My question is this: Since the sub-woofer's sound is omni-directional, and very low frequency, will the sound penetrate drywall? My sub-woofer is floor firing, which I know is not the ideal type for this type of installation. If it won't "work" through the drywall, I will put some type of grill/mesh in the opening. Either fabric or metal. Any thoughts? Thanks for your input.

in wall sub not a good idea at all, lots of air needs to move you will be restricting the intake...

You might as well sell the sub. Putting it in a cabinet/closet will defeat the purpose.

Hi
I agree with the above members You will have several problems doing this
and placing a downward firing subwoofer in an enclosed arear is not a good idea either
you are better off finding an alternative way to install a subwoofer
There are subwoofers on the market that are designed for in wall installation
in-cabinet installation and even in floor installation If you post a picture of your listening room or your placement options I would be glad to try and help you

Cheers
