The powerful high-definition media player delivers instant network centralized HD media storage, management, and access for high-definition video, digital photos, digital audio and DVD files from one box, no matter where the files are stored. The small-footprint MediaBox (4.1” x 9” with stand) lets users add up to a 500GB SATA hard drive allowing users to access files stored locally in the MediaBox, as well as from a personal computer; from a USB hard disk drive; or from any network-attached storage box.

Looks pretty nice. One thing in the manual that stuck out:
Scaling and deinterlacing. This function is performed automatically - all video will be rescaled to match your chosen Output Resolution (see section 5.3 for how to set). For SD material, inverse telecine for film sources and motion adaptive deinterlacing for video sources are supported. For HD material, the ‘bob’ method is used.
Example 1: Downscaling and deinterlacing of 1080i to match your 720p display.
Example 2: Upscaling and deinterlacing of standard definition to match your 720p display.
So, with that being said...It looks like it will only display 1080p if the content is already encoded in 1080p. It will not upscale anything to that resolution.
It's still seems pretty nice for a MCE.

I would think that this:

would upscale it to whatever you designate the TV/projector is capable of delivering. That is how I read it.
