It's temporarily situated but not permanantly setup the way I want it yet. The system's receiver is a Denon AVR 2808CI - Technics CD Player in the middle. Speakers are the manificeintly sounding Galaxy Traingle 5.1's & Huge Sub (God they're awesome!!!!!) and of course my EQ that I use specifically for studio work (not for Listening! Okay?). I want to thank everyone on this forum for helping on this. This is the best sounding audio system that I had ever!!! And believe me, I have had some! From Kenwood to Carver to Phase Linear, etc., etc., etc. :D

I know all too well what it's like to enjoy music so much that you don't want to stop listening. But it looks like you still have a lot of set up to do. It's gotta be hard to sit on that futon. Ouch. Looks like a great start. Glad you're enjoying it.

You're right I still have quite a ways to go.... but I'm loving every minute of it! I mean..... wow, if someone could only hear this thing.... the speakers! AAAHHH! Look... I'm playing music that I have always played; I'm hearing ever so subtle instruments and strings, and tingles and bells that I have never heard! I'm not new to music, it's not like this is my first time listening to a nice system. Granted, I've never had a $2000 set of speakers before... but still. I mean... can these speakers really be making that much of a difference??!!

Listen, I was listening to "Here my Dear" by the late Marvin Gaye, I heard some sweet, soothing strings in a fashion that I have never even heard before. I didn't even know such a refined passage of strings were ever in this song, the strings put me in the mind of soft music blowing on the wind, carried by a gently flowing breeze. Okay, yea I used to write a little poetry; but my point is, I guess, if I had to sum it up, that good equipment that normally I would not have been able to afford had I not got a deal on it seems to be making a difference, that I almost never found out about.

Listen, a friend came over, and I put on a Smokey Robinson Concert DVD, eventaully, I had to practically put him out of my house, he didn't want to leave! All I can say is I consider this a hell of an investment for a music lover! :)

I totally get it. I had my system in need of stands, wire management, etc for months because I would just sit and listen to music for hours when I should have been physically working on cleaning it up and getting it set up and arranged attractively. Fortunately, I have been able to clean it up a lot recently.

It is nice to hear from people that enjoy the content, who can slow down and listen to the music instead of the equipment.

is your shelf stable? won't the denon receiver and other stuff fall off? it doesn't look like all the feet of the receiver are on the shelf.
it looks like the mdf of the shelf is bent as well.

You are a sharp observer! The self is much too small; like I said though, it's a for the moment thing. But I did fortify the shelf to hold the weight safely. :)

In the end.... isn't that what it's really all about?
A lot of times people may by things for show, or to make a room or setup look sharp or immaculant, etc.; But no one is ever going to enjoy a high class music system.... more than a music lover. :)

WOW Croseiv!!!
Just took a peek at your setup!!! Looks Great!! Lots of quality and power. Are you pleased with the sound?

Thanks! Yes I'm reasonably pleased. The weakest link for me is my sub, but I'm going to fix that pretty soon...The mains and center are very good in my opinion. I want to plunge into high definition video pretty soon.

Great! High Definition Video is also next on my agenda. :)

Hey Pipelayer haven't seen you around in a while. Have you decided what your going to choose format wise (Blu-ray or HD DVD)? I may go for one of the combo players in a couple of months.

Cheers!:)
