I need a new reciever bad, and i have been posting around and came up with this, Pioneer Elite SC-05, Sony DA-3400ES, or Sony 4400ES, or Harman Kardons new HD line, so what will fit for me. The pioneer i can find for as low as 740, the sony 3400 for 700, and the 4400 for 900, the harman for 800, so which one, which one is going to sound better for my SCS surrounds, cc, STS TOWERS, and Pc-12NSD sub?

By the way the Pioneer Elite SC-07 is the only one with 2 HDMI outputs.
And it is THX Ultra2. It retails for $2,200, but is for sale at only $899 at Videogon.

The SC-05 retails for $1,800, but it is only $699 right now. It weights 40 pounds, is THX Select2, has Wolfson WM-8740 Dacs, 130 watts times 7, Direct Energy class D ICE Power, runs very cool and has adjustable and programmable user favorites ASR (Abbey Road Studio Recordings) MCACC Automatic Room EQ with Phase Control and much more... The dynamics of that receiver are incredible and the sound is fine too. :) It is the best deal.

The HK model and the Sony models that you mentioned are for kids not for grown ups. ;)

That's my opinion after several researchs and readings.

Cheers,

Bob

I bought a SC-07 through them. They were great to deal with and that amp kicks ***. Serious ***.

Hmm... Wonder why?

Ok, I'm now starting to have my doubts about the Pioneer Elite SC-05.

And it seems that the Harman Kardon AVR 3550HD is gaining some ground in his favor.

I think I'm still a little short as to the exact why. But I do have some kind of an idea. Maybe someone can pinpoint the intrinsic intricacies and guide me in the right direction with some invaluable introduction?
