Does anyone have any info on this receiver? I've found but one review. Good Guys has it for 50% off ($499). I was wondering if it was worth buying or opt for another receiver? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes Good Guys has i t for $499.00! All I could find out on this unit is that it weighs exactly the same as the Elite 55 model! Audio Advisors was selling this unit for over a grand at one point, and had this little blurb about the 2012 being Elite inside, where it counts! I have taken a peek inside both units, and cannot see any differences! One sales person at Good Guys told me that the pioneer rep in one of there training meetings eas asked about the 2012 and stated it was the same as the 55! Over run of parts, or something like that! Havent had a chance to listen side by side! But, Good Guys has a thirty day return policy, which is easy and painless!

I got that Receiver and am very pleased with it.
It looks like a "rebadged" VSX-55TXI, cause it has the same options, size, weight and remote.
Best option is definitely the MCACC...

Pioneer 2012

I just bought the Pioneer 2012 at the Good Guys for $499, and while I haven't even had a chance to put it through its paces yet, I found it interesting than the sales receipt actually listed the item as the Elite VSX2012. I mention this only because of the speculation that it is substantially similar, or the same as, the Elite model. For what it's worth...

I purchased one also and compared w/the HK525 that I sold and the Denon 3803. With the same speakers and subwoofer set up at 0 setting for bass/treble for all of the above receivers, the 2012 has good mid and treble, but the 2012 did not have enough bass output comparing to the Denon and the HK. I ended up returning the 2012. I must also quantify that I have a very big room.
