Hey i'm new here and i hope i could get the help i'm looking for...

i got a Pioneer VSX-D811s and i'm trying to connect my DVD player with it with an S-video connection but i had no luck getting the pic to how up on my TV ! the sound works with the optical connection but the video won't show up ...i've tried RCA connections for the video and it works so the DVD is ok but i can't get the S-video connection in the receiver to work ...i went over the manual but didn't see anything that should be done to get the connection to work ...i've also tried to connect my computer with an S-video connection too but with the same result , no picture showing up on TV... anyone knows how to go from here ? what do i have to do to fix this ?

If your are using svideo you will need to check and make sure you have the player set to interlace or 480i instead of progressive scan or 480p. Some players will not output from the svideo when set to progressive scan. My Pioneer didn't.
