Hi. Have you considered the VSX-1021? It has some nice upgrades, but you'd have to decide if it's worth it to you. It was on sale pretty much every weekend for the past month or so on newegg for $300. I don't know what they are at the moment.

The 1021 appears to have a significantly more advanced auto calibration system - although they should both be very easy to use. Based on my experience moving to a more advanced system going from my 2005 Pioneer to my 2009 Pioneer Elite, I think it's a worthwhile addition.

The 1021 video processor is more advanced, but maybe not an issue. I don't use the video processor in mine. The processing in my TV and in my video sources is fine for me.

The 1021 can do multi-channel SACD over HDMI - you might never need that, but I thoroughly enjoy having that on my receiver.

Just a thought.

I would take the Denon AVR-1712 with Audyssey MultiEQ XT over either of them and Newegg has it on sale today for $250 - see the Deals section for the coupon code.

If you are "strapped" two one of those two price wise, I'd take the Pioneer. Onkyo has been having some reliability problems lately.
