Pioneer VSX-816 noise?

I bought a Pioneer VSX-816 Receiver yesterday, and I was wondering if it might be defective.

Is it normal for this unit to make a moderate "humming or buzzing" noise from the speakers for 1 second or so when the receiver is turned on (or switching inputs) ?

It seems to stop doing this after about 2 minutes or so (it doesnt make this noise after the unit "warms-up").

It even makes this noise with nothing else but 1 speaker connected.

Does anybody have the same unit to confirm if mine is defective?

Should I return it?

Ok, I'll word this better to make it easier to understand ;

My new reciever makes a loud "buzzing" noise heard in the speakers (30 - 40 Db. or so) when I power on the receiver.

With the receiver on, when I switch inputs, ( tv, dvd, aux, etc. etc. ....) it makes the same noise.

This noise lasts for a second or so.

My question is:

Should my receiver be making any noises like this ???

Please help me!!

If it is defective, I have to return it ASAP.
