Hi all,

Unfortunately I have misplaced the remote for my Pioneer VSX-520k. I need this because to do the setup for the speakers, it requires you to press the 'setup' button on the remote and go through the remote to choose various options. In particular, I need to adjust the crossover levels as I am no longer using a subwoofer and it is still set up as though I am!

Does anyone know a remote I could buy that will be able to do this. I'm happy to get a universal one or anything - just as long as I can change the damn crossover levels.

Cheers

Try URC RF20 remote - it's very solid and has big library of codes built in,
or one of refub older models of Harmony remotes - they should go for about $50

If you know anyone else with a Pioneer receiver, you could try out their remote. The remote from my 2005 VSX-1015 works with my 2009 Pioneer Elite VSX-23. Not all of the buttons are the same, but those that are work the same on either receiver.

You could also look for a used one. This one on eBay looks to me like the one that came with your receiver, and it's $35 (I didn't do an extensive search). A universal remote as recommended above would be more my choice because you could use it with other things, but this is just another option.

You can also check to see if this Acoustic Research ARRX12G remote has downloadable codes for your receiver. It's $20 on an Amazon lighning deal right now - but there's only about an hour left.

Thanks guys,
I ended up just calling up Pioneer. They are going to get a new one sent to me. Cost $38.5 AUD - not too bad I think, and it means that if I ever sell the amp at least I will have the original remote. Thanks for your suggestions!
