pioneer vsx-1015tx with PS2 as dvd player PROBLEM!

I cant seem to get the reciever to recognize Dolby Digital or DTS when i play a DVD on my Playstation 2. The optical works, but it treats it as a stereo pair? PCM maybe? this was not a problem on my old JVC low end reciever... maybe a compatability issue? Help!!

ahhh got it... missed that damn PS2 menu after the DVD starts... then turn on the dts and DD... works now just fine... way better than before! By the way, anyone have an opinion on that reciever? The pioneer vsx-1015tx? thnx

Pio 1015 is a beast!!

Yeah I have the Pioneer VSX-1015tx and I think it is an awesome receiver!! I did have problems with the MCACC not working for a while, but I had the 4yr PSP (Extended Warranty) from Best Try, I mean Worst Buy. Ooops, what i ment to say is Best Buy! And they did a Factory Reset and fix the problem. the cool thing is if the receiver goes back for the third time, I can get another receiver that will replace this one. If that happens, I will get the new Pioneer VSX-1016TX!!! I heard that the 1016 will have HDMI input and outputs as well as XM radio!!
