Pioneer " set up menu " gone

My set up menu will not display. I was going to change the size of my speakers and when i hit "set up" on my remote my plasma now says " Not a supported mode". I have used my set up menu many times. Pioneer VSX 92 TXH

Have you changed your display since you installed the 92? The 72/82 models of this receiver transmitted the OSD via HDMI at 480i which many displays will not do. Also did you change the ouput resolution of the receiver (upscaling)? The OSD may also not work at certain resolutions.

No, The only changes that i have made to the system lately is a Oppo dvd player that I put on HDMI 2.

Make sure that you push the "Receiver" button on the remote control before trying to hit the setup button (assuming that your Pioneer remote is similar to mine).

Adam as usual you are the man. I would not have thought of that but the exact same thing happened to me the other night when I was making an adjustment. It is usually the simplest things like this that get you.

If only it was something so simple my troubles would be none. I do appreciate your input. The only thing that has recently happened, is i bumped the set up button loaded on my logitech remote and hastily grabbed the remote that goes to my pioneer and exited. Could there have been a setting that i changed accidentally in my haste? Please note that the display window on my receiver displays properly. I just cannot get the menu up on my plasma.

I think that the easiest way is to use the "A PARAMETER" button on the remote (described on page 26 of the owner's manual). The menu that would come up is descibed on page 71 of the owner's manual.

I'm a little suprised that your remote, which has the exact same layout as mine (for my Pioneer 1015) doesn't have the "MIDNIGHT/LOUDNESS" button that mine has.

It does not and when using the system in the evening it sure would be helpful.

Thanks Adam, my Pioneer remote may not have a midnight loudness button but my Harmony now does. It sure makes a difference. This pioneer sure is a nice piece, but it seems that i have so much to learn about. Every time that i start to make a adjustment i find 22 other settings.
