confused:
I just changed units from a Yamaha (no HDMI connections) to the Pioneer SC-27. This unit has more wattage output than the old Yamaha, but I am having to turn the volume up more than I had to with the Yamaha wether in the stereo mode or in the surround sound mode and even in Zone 2 output going to an amp for the rest of the house, am I doing something wrong?
And is it possible to program the Pioneer to where the unit does not have to be on when I have the the DISH HDMI output going to the input at the receiver, and output through the receiver HDMI to the TV? (so the wife does not have to turn mulitple items on just to watch the TV). or is the only way by DISH HDMI output into the TV input#1 and the Pioneer HDMI output into TV input #3 for the other video sources?
Thanks

Where the volume is, has nothing to do with the power of the unit. It has everything to do with the sensitivity of the inputs and gain. So don't worry about it.

HDMI ia an active two way communication with DRM via complex HDCP codes. So the receiver has to be on to pass HDMI.

I understand there are some Onkyos that transmit HDMI in standby, but the HDMI board has to be on and consumes 30 watts continuously.
