Audio: 199 watts x 7 ch @ 8 ohms, 269 watts x 2 @ 8 ohms, 523 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms; Crosstalk -106dB; Freq Response 20 Hz - 20 khZ +/- 0.28 dB; THD 0.006%; SNR -106 dBrA.

Video: SUCKED totally as far as 1080p upscaling goes, but should be as good as any for HDMI-video pass-through.

Quote from HTM:
"I recommend that you use this receiver with HDMI whenever possible and do any required upconversion ELSEWHERE."

Power specs are mighty impressive on that one. This would be very expected from a $7000 70 pound class D receiver with dual ICE power modules for each channel.:D

I have no need for seperates or that receiver. That's honestly a good thing.;)

You would think for $7k, a piece of equipment should do it all... very well. I mean why would Pio even offer a product of that caliber that didn't do upconversion well. I mean don't they know that they're gonna get slammed for that? It's just odd the companies put out equipment with glaring shortcomings.

I agree completely.

I mean it is a very nice piece, but for $7K, which is $1.5K more than the Denon 5308 and Yamaha Z11, there is no excuse for Pioneer not to use at LEAST the Silicon Optix Reon (which is in the Onkyo 875/876/905/906). I expected both Yamaha and Pioneer to use the Silicon Optix Realta, but I guess I expected too much.

With that being said, I think the AUDIO performance is reference quality on the Pioneer. 523 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms & Crosstalk of -106dB are out of this world for a receiver:

875/876/905/906;)

I agree as well. I would much rather have the RX-Z11.:)

Their Marvell QDEO solution was supposed to be good. I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out.
