Pioneer PDP-427XG Plasma and HDTV

I have the above mentioned TV. Bought it in Hong Koong. And just set it up in San Francisco (and it is multi-function so works here, amazing, because I did not thing of the PAL issue...).

I have Comcast. With HD. But I am only getting at 480i signal and no HD.

Any idea why this is happening? Comcast tld me to use an HDMI cabel. But that did not solve the issue.

Assuming you have a Motorola box and have it connected with component video cables (red, greed, blue) to an input on the TV that is HD capable (some sets have component inputs that only accept 480p); Turn the cable box off and press the menu button. You should get a menu on the screen. Make sure YcPbCr output is set to 1080i or 720p. Press menu again and turn the box back on. Go to a known HD station and see if that works.
