Hi All,
I have a Pioneer PD-S904 CD player that I bought new around 1996 together with its cassette counterpart. While the tape deck is suffering the eject mechanism failure (fixable, but I don't listen to tapes anymore anyway), I still use the CD player as transport. As far as I remember, it was one of their top models at the time. I really like its sound.
Some time ago I also purchased Denon DBT-1713UD Blu-ray player (after my first choice - Oppo BDP-105 - failed to work properly in my house due to interference). The Denon unit is now my workhorse for movies.
My question is, is it still worth it to keep the Pioneer player connected for music listening? It's kinda old and, being a European model, requires an outlet adapter. It sounds fantastic to me when my Emotiva does the processing. I am just cautious to turn it on too often these days because of age.
How does it really compare to the modern Denon? Anybody has experience with these?
Thanks!
