Hi, Not to sound rude, but that would be like getting into 8-tracks, except I think they would be easier to find. Any reason to hook it up other then a new project, or do you not like DVD?

If I could get hold of one, I'd hook it up, just to play with it some. Never did own one, so they're new to me.

I saw a stack of discs for one, at Goodwill's Outlet Store. They sold them for a dollar apiece. I didn't buy any, since I didn't have a player. Check Goodwill and Salvation Army and Mission Stores, for discs. If you find some cheap, check them out. Won't hurt to look, if you have inputs not being used...... :)

care to comment on this?

Do some google searching is the only advice I can give. I think there are who still trade in those discs and perhaps some may still be pressed?

I have a laser disc player I don't use hooked up to my system, and have 30 to 40 laser discs. The player only has a composite video output. The video quality is about the same as a good VHS tape, so why bother.

I have the Yamaha HTR 5890 receiver, do I need a special input other than the regular S-Video and RCA jacks (or optical) to hook up a laserdisc, and if I don't, anybody willing to sell the laserdisc player???
