Pioneer HTP-4600 Review: HTiB with Wireless Surround!

But what happens when you introduce these surround sound systems into existing living rooms? Among the many other issues, educated Audioholics readers combat on a day-to-day basis, the simplest problem may be finding a way to place your surround speakers in a room that was not initially designed to support them. Pioneer's HTP-4600 provides an innovative solution to this problem - taking the wiring out of the equation and freeing up the consumer to enjoy surround sound without the hassle and inconvenience of running cables through the ceiling or under carpet. Just affix the surround module, plug it into a power source, and presto! Instant surround sound.

[Read the Review]

I think that this is a great product. Pioneer is really becoming the consumer brand I think. It looks like they are really focused on the mainstream consumers, and that's a good thing IMO. Sure this thing is never going to win any awards for sonic fidelity, but it seems like a great HTIB, and look ma, no more wires. I'd love to be able to get rid of some wires my self. Also they don't seem to have made the system too proprietary. You could upgade as the need hits you. The lack of the sub out is a bit disconcerting, but there are ways around it, and that power figure is laughable the way they skewed it, worst measurement I've seen from a ligitimate manufacturer to date. But this is the kind of setup to bring in more consumers. It seems like it can give em a taste that could leave many wanting more, and could also bring many over to pioneer. I bet this thing will kick the butt of most other HTIB's near it, and the price is not outrageous. Good review Clint, as always.

Sorry, nice post Clint and good review Jeff  . Usually I would have noticed that sorry guys, I'm just used to seeing reviews written by such a small handful of you with guest articles by others. I'll try and avoid it in the future.
