Started with occasionally no sound out all outputs. Would come back on without doing anything by itself. Now no sound and not coming back on, disconnected everything except speakers still no sound . Connected speakers to "B" and nothing. Any other suggestions for narrowing down the problem would be greatly appreciated.
That is a very old receiver, nearly 20 years old. It obviously has a major fault. I does not have a way of rebooting the processor other then unplugging it. I suspect you have tried that.
That receiver is worth no money and is certainly not worth the cost of repair. It is well passed its expected life now.
I'm afraid it needs a one way trip to the recycling center.
You will find things have improved and advanced a lot since that receiver was produced.
We are passed the analog sunset by a long way now. So if your peripherals are of similar vintage, you may need to replace a lot of your other units also, I'm afraid.
