Pioneer Elite VSX 92 issues

I've asked the Pioneer Rep these questions with no response yet. This is the 3rd VSX 92 I've set up with the same issues.

1.If I press the V PARAMETER button V CONVERSION is displayed. Left and right arrows turn conversion off and on. Up and down arrows should scroll through more parameters such as brightness, contrast etc. including resolution but only V CONVERSION is displayed.

2.I haven't been able to set any inputs to HDMI. The source is a Shaw hidef PDR with HDMI out. When the HDMI cable is plugged in the 92 displays a flashing HDMI light for a while then stops. In the input menu next to HDMI is a dotted line. When I scroll down the curser skips past HDMI to COMPONENT.

Try this!

Have you tried to turn off HDMI controls. The HDMI control is only used if you have a Pioneer Plasma display. you have to go in and turn it off.

Thanks, problem solved. Pioneer does some dumb things. Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan since 1974 but sometimes they make me shake my head. For example if you set the front speakers to large LFE is not output unless the subwoofer is set to PLUS while the default setting is YES.
