Although I have great things about the 1015/1016's, the Elite rec. are a large step up from the Pioneer line. I recently switched from a Denon 3802 to the Pioneer Elite VSX82, mostly for the video switching, but the audio is awesome. Much bigger soundstage and a crisper more detailed sound.
If you can afford the couple extra $ I would get the Elite rec.
