My brother has a buddy that works in a Pioneer store and he told him that If I ever needed a Pioneer product,to let him know and he could get me a discount.:D Anyway,I have been eyeballing the Vsx01 or awhile now and wonder if I should get it or not.I'll be hooking up my Dish HDDVR,Bluray player,Xbox 360(component) and the Nintendo Wii(component).Does anyone have any reason as to why it wouldn't work with my setup?Figure that I can use two of the hdmi inputs for the Hddvr and Bluray and the components for the Xbox and Wii.That would give me one extra hdmi to use down the road. Thanks

I can't think of any reason that it won't work with that set-up. I'm assuming that you'll be connecting from the receiver to a TV using an HDMI cable, and the VSX-01 will convert the component video inputs for output through the HDMI output.

When I was looking to get a new receiver, the VSX-01 was at the top of the list last summer. That's a good unit.

You would be correct sir.

Are you allowed to say how much it would cost you? You have me interested in it again, and I'm just curious. If you'd prefer not to, no worries. There are some on eBay for $580 right now.

Ya, but then, you can get a brand new Pioneer Elite SC-05 for $685, if you shop carefully. That's only $100 more or just about. So, what's the rationale here?

Not from any authorized retailers;)
Actually yes.

And that one at $685 was from 6th Avenue Electronics. Is this an authorized dealer?
* Not listed there right now!

Which ones? I'd be interested.
Hey Adam, I just added a not on my post. It was at 6th Avenue Electronics.
But I just cheked now, and it's not listed (that particular model) there anymore! Must be all Sold Out! Many people bought it at $699, and one guy did get it for $685 with the Price Alert, then he told everyone! No wonder it's gone now. But it will reappear, it always does. The SC-07 and SC-09 are still there though.

And guess what, at accessories 4 less, the Onkyo TX-SR805 just came back again! $599.99 The black model, last unit. The silver one, more, same price.

Anyway, sorry about that, with the internet things change so quickly...
Pouf! It's gone. :( Snap! It reappears. :) Pouf! Gone again. Kaboom! Back. :) ...

The Pioneer Elites are retail only at 6ave.com. Is there a way to order those online from them? Thanks.

Yes, Adam, you can order them online.

If you use the price alert feature on 6ave, they'll e-mail you a link for the item at a particular price (it may be higher than what you desire) so you can add it to your cart and order it.

I actually have several price alert offers from 6ave sitting in my inbox including one for the SC-05 at $699 and one for the SC-07 at $850.

Hmmm... What am I saying? The Day of Reckoning or the Independence Day?

Of course, I must have give close to hundred of links to several members, they are all over. I'm getting quite bored to repeat them all the time.
There very easy to find, just look at my posts for the last couple or more days, there all in there and more. I even told people how to get exactly at the right spot (Price Alert), with direct links and detailed instructions.
I should be a salesman. I don't have a computer for very long in my life (less than a year), but I shure know whast people want, and that is the best deal they can get with full protection and freedom of expression. ;) And if it's free, better it is. :) You know that too Adam. We want it all and right now, with a paper confirming the act of Independence, with full extended warranty, assurance that the performance of the component is impeccable, total access to our Freedom, and guaranty of absoute eternal satisfaction with the lowest price ever paid in the annals of audio history.
Isn't just what we all want, and not only at Christmas time, but 365 days a year?
Are we sick, or are we really sick?
And what do you think children in Ethiopia wants? An Onkyo receiver with THX Ultra2 Plus and Audyssey MultEQ XT with Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Volume too??? Yep, makes you think sometimes about the true priorities...

Still want that deal from 6th Avenue Electronics with their Price Alert feature on a Pioneer Elite SC-07 THX Ultra2 Plus for only between $899 & $999, Free shipping, free taxes, Freedom, Independence free delaration, full extended warranty till you die, guarantee of satisfaction till it brakes down, free remote and manual that at least you can still use even if your receiver brakes down, and of course with a kiss from the queen and a boot in the butts from the king. ;)

Ok, Ok, don't yell at me now, here it is #1: http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=ELISC07

** PriceAlert: http://www.6ave.com/shop/PriceAlert.aspx?id=ELISC07
>> Try $900.

Coming up #2: http://cgi.videogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?rcvr71ch&1249999099&2&3&4&

>>> Do remember though, prices may vary day by day in these days and age.
I don't assume any more responsability as for the prices set.

I'm not sure if it's that what you want Adam, but at least it's an example.

And don't take me too seriously, because I am.

See, exactly what I've been singing for the last month or so.

Sorry Adam, it took me more than 1 and 1/2 hour to type my above post.
Remember, only one finger... and about 36 hours straight on the computer non-stop...

Just want to jump in on two things.
First I love my Pioneer rcv. It has been lots of fun to use. Setup was quick and easy and everything has worked great in my setup.
Secound when I first went to 6ave for the 1019 and had issues like what was in stock, then when they got it from pioneer they sent it to 6ave and not me. Then the item was damaged. So they said I was sol cuz it was the last they could get for some time. They gave me a free hdmi (not really a biggie but hey free non the less) and let me upgrade to the 01 with an extened 3 year warranty i think it came out to around the mid $500 range. So great top noch service!

Im still confused at how they sell a unit @ 50% retail without it being a return or refurb. I would also say that if they are selling them "new' at that price, they will not be an dealer for long. And if anyone has purchased this unit please post.

First, THIS IS SO GAAAY. :D

Two, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE GAAAY & CONFUSED. :D

Anyway, Happy 4th of July.:) ;) :)

There are many people that bought the SC-05 for $699 and the SC-07 for $899.
If you go sometimes to AVS, you'll find quite a few right there.
Just check their own respective theads.
And as someone that goes there every day to keep track of the latest, I can assure you that these Pioneer Elite ICE owners are very very happy with their extremely low price purchases. And they are very very happy too with the performance of these receivers; no wonder, at their low prices. :)
Why don't you get one for yourself Bandphan, they do work great in bi-wired mode. :D

Ill check AVS, then ill get to that bi wiring as I wouldnt want any unwanted EMF getting back to my HAM radio. BTW doesnt AVS enforce their no price talk policy anymore.
