Pioneer Elite SC-05 vs SC-07

I'm trying to put together a home theatre system and narrowed my decision down to either SC-05 or SC-07. Not sure if the extra 10W is needed.

I thinking of getting Kilpsch RF 83 Home Theatre System, but still wonder if the RF-63 is all I really need.

I have a large room (19' x 23) with high ceilings (12').

I definately don't want to under powering my system as I like to play it loud occasionally and like crisp, clear sound.

Any comments / suggestions for this newbie is appreciated.:D

Either receiver will work just fine. The Klipsch have excellent sensitivity ratings so filling your room with sound won't be an issue. One suggestion I'd make is to consider the RF-62/82s instead and put the money toward a dual sub setup for your large space. If your considering Klipsch subs, DON'T! There are better options available for the money.

I waffled between the two and ended up getting the Sc07 for $200 more than the 05. The primary reason I did this is because I need the simulataneous HDMI outputs. A standalone box that can output 1 HDMI into 2 streams doesn't cost much less than that, and is yet another box on my rack.

Other than that, I don't see a real reason to buy the 07.

Which one is better?

Please tell me is there any big differences between the SC-07 and SC-05 besides the less 10w power per channel in the SC-05?

Why is the SC-07 is 300 USD more expensive than the 05 if just for that?

What does it mean when it says these receivers can't do HDMI video processing?

Thank you.

The SC-07 has THX™ Ultra 2 Plus, Sampling Rate Converter where the 05 does not. The 07 also has as said, 2 HDMI and 2 Component Video outputs where the 05 only has one each. The 07 also has one extra coaxial digital input, as well as component and composite out instead of just composite out.

Thats all I can see that is different. Oh and the inaudible wattage difference.

The Pioneer Elite SC-05 is plenty to match your very efficient Klipsch speakers.
And at only less than $700, it is an amazing deal! More than 61% off!

Can't go wrong with that deal. Do you really need the very few features that the SC-07 adds? Why spend few hundred more when the SC-05 is cheaper and will do you as good? Save the money for better speakers or a better center channel, or concert tickets, or blu-ray movies with CDs or SACDs.

Of course it says that, you have to make an offer. That's for the SC-07.
Make an offer at $875, and they will contact you to say YES, we accept your offer, and then it's yours at that price. That's the way they operate at this place. Just call in at their toll free number and make your offer. They will call you back to tell you.
