This model is being sold 20% off at the local sound advice which is currently going out of business. They are offering it for $6300. What does everyone think of this unit and this price? I love the picture on these but do not really know much about Plasmas yet.

Pioneer Elite Plasma Pro 1120

Tallcane,

I bought one about 2 months ago, and it's great. At that price, just make sure it's an A stock unit, and go for it.

When you say "A" stock what do you mean? THis particular unit showed up at the dealer with a "line" running down the middle of the picture. it was never sold and they returned it to Pioneer who replaced some part and sent it back. Would you perceive this as a reason not to jump on this deal?

That does make this unit "B" stock. "A" stock is brand new in a box never been opened. If the unit has just been serviced by Pioneer, and is in perfect working order, and the dealer you are talking about is an authorized retailer then I'd say go for it. You will have the full Elite warranty even though the store that sold you the product is gone. A couple of things though, make sure that there is an authorized repair center close to you, and make 100% sure that the dealer is authorized. Pioneer Elite Plasmas are very highly regarded. They are a little pricey for most people though. In this case there seems to be very little risk to you as long as you get a valid warranty.
