This TV, which I have loved for 10 years, doesn't have a HDMI slot:eek: only RGB, component, and composit connections. Is there an adapter cable to connect my Denon AVR-591 to this TV?

Your TV has no digital inputs so, you will need to use the analog inputs. However you need to know that if your receiver will not convert HDMI to analog you are out of luck.

Also BDs are now allowed to have a flag so you can not get HD from analog outputs.

A conversion adapter from an HDMI output to HD analog would be an illegal product because of DRM.

Basically you need a new TV with HDMI inputs.

Even the thrifts will not now take analog TVs, because of the expense of getting rid of them.

Just use component video from BDP directly to your TV. Run HDMI to receiver.

You will have hi-def. Component video can be 1080i from player (which I recommend as the setting), and then your Pio just has to deinterlace for 1080p native rez (which I think it is?).

No biggie. Of course, if you want to upgrade to the Pio Pro 141, by all means! :D
