Hey guys im thinking about picking up a Pio Bdp-320 or Oppo Bdp-80 and i'm trying decide which one would work the best with my Pio 6020 Kuro . I can pick up a Bdp-320 for 149 and Bdp-80 for about 250 . So is the price difference worth it . My first concern would be PQ second would be speed. Thanks in advance! Also it will be used mostly for BD with some CD'S possibly and my Pio 6020 will be doing the processing for BLU-RAYS .

It depends, it is not worth the price difference unless you need SACD/DVDA and cannot live with the lower speed but even then it is a matter of opinion.

I think im leaning towards the Pio Bdp-320 seems to have a lot of bang for the buck and its up converting seems to better from what I read and I do watch standard DVD's once in a great while .

The 320 is not going to upconvert better than the Oppo 80 but for $149 it is hard for you not to lean toward it if all you need is a BD player. Here in Canada the lowest on sale price I had seen was $269.99 at Best Buy even when the C$ was higher than the US$. If I can get one here for 149 I would buy one for spare.

I thought I read on a few reviews on the OPPO 80 that it wasnt very good at upconverting and one of its negitaves and the Pio 320 did a good job at it on the reviews i've read. But regardless im pretty sure the Pio 320 is going to be the one ;) Thanks again for your input :)

The 80 is not as good as the 83 but may be as good or better than most other players. The 320 is probably only second to the Oppo 83 and a few high end/price ones. On a 50 to 60" screen it most likely won't make a noticeable difference with either one or even the 83. Regardless, the quality of the transfer has more impact on the final upscaled PQ so don't be disappointed if the 320 fails to deliver the PQ you expect with the first disc you put in.

In my opinion if you don't mind the relatively slower loading speed and the player comes with full PIO warranty then it is the best player you can buy at that price. One last point, the 320 must be one of the quietest BD players.

Excellent points ! and I love quiet lol my Sony is a little noisy not bad but a little more quiet would be nice for those low audio scenes would be great. I know what your saying for sure about its only going to be as good as the quailty before the transfer .

Thanks Peng for all your help :) I couldnt resist the bang for the buck on Pio 320 and took advantage of the sale 149 shipped. Hopefully I should have it by next weekend to test it out :D
