I have an Pioneer 815 on order for $279.00 delivered, is the 912 any better of a receiver. In other words, is it worth cancelling my 815 and order the 912?

The 912 is an older receiver than the 815. They look pretty even in comparison, but I'd choose the 815 simply to have a newer model and know that the warranty is in place.

The 912 is an older model, at leat 2 yrs old. The 912 was a very popular receiver when it was introduced. I'd stick with that 815. $279 delivered is a very good price for that receiver.

I had the 912 and sold it to my father...it actually has 9 speaker outputs. 7 for the main room(7.1) and another pair for another room. At that price it's hard to find a receiver that has that many speaker outputs...if you need the multi room capability. Mine it still going strong...at the parents house...I was just craving an upgrade. The only thing you won't have versus the 815 is Dolby Pro-Logic IIx. Plus, I think you'll like the 912's remote better. It's a lot more logically laid-out than that mess the 815 comes with ;)
