Ok, Today I came home and changed only my front speaker cables. I have powered towers in the front. These are connected thru the lfe on the receiver. So again all I did was change speaker wire. My problem is I have lost some of the volume of the bass. I had to increase the db's on the sub level on the reciever to get what I think I have lost. So, I went back to the old cables and it sounds the same again with low lfe levels. Is it possible that I am thinking it does when it does not. I did not listen to the reciever until after I came home from work and changed the cables. My wife thinks it sounded a little week also. Could the reciever the culprit? I have run test tones and the sub rattles the house. But when listening to music or movies it becomes very low. Any help would be great.

It's hard for me to think of a scenario where what you are describing can be attributed to a change in speaker cables as long as the cables are properly connected to the speakers and receiver. Speaker cables in of themselves have no impact on the sound. I would double and triple check all the connections.

"Is it possible that I am thinking it does when it does not"

You do have to consider this.
