I just recently purchased a Pioneer 1121-k AV Receiver. It seemed to have alot of the features I was wanting and not to many issues ie..HDMI going out ect..My other equipment includes a Oppo BDP-93 and Infinity Primus speakers, 362 towers, 162 bookshelfs , 350 center and a mirage 8in sub. I'm considering changing my speakers and wanted to see if any other members here have this receiver or the 1021 could ring in on the speakers they are using. I'm instrested in a well balanced speaker (natural). My price point is no more then $1000 for the 5... fronts, center and surrounds. Thanks

Go with the Pioneers. I bought the 1021 and speakers from NewEgg, which is always running sales. They sound great.

I had the 1121 for a little while connected to the Pioneer 51 towers, 21 center, and book shelf speakers. They sounded great, especially for the money. You can get the 5 speakers at Best Buy for $285. If you don't like the sound, you can return them. They are even cheaper on newegg when on sale, but returning is an issue because newegg charges a restocking fee.

I then sold the Pioneer speaker setup to my neighbor. And I bought Emotiva speakers. They sounded very "empty" with the Pioneer vsx-1121. So much so that I sold the Pioneer receiver and bought a Yahama A-1000 receiver. They sound fantastic now, although they need more power. I'm getting an XPA-5 with the next 2 months, so that will be fine.

For my buddy, I installed a Kef KHT3005 setup. And they sound pretty good too. VERY crisp highs and the bass was adequate in his room.

BUT, first determine your listening habits (loudness, movies vs music, etc.) your room size, listening distance, etc. And then you will get better recommendations. Good luck and have fun.

I use Polk Monitor70 towers and a CS2 center with my 1121, but I think changing from your Infinity speakers would be a "lateral move"

What do you "not" like about your current speakers ? I would take a serious look at your 8" subwoofer first for possible replacement.....think 12" ;)
