Pioneer 1016 - Only Subwoofer Not Working ?

Hey everyone!

Just Bought a Pioneer XSV 1016 AV Rcvr, I got my old 100Watt 6Ohm 5.1 Speakers from another pioneer HTIB unit I bought last year, but after reading so many reviews about Recvrs I thought I needed it. Got it. Put old speakers with it.

So far so good, but only one trouble, my sub woofer won't work.
The model # on woofer is DV232 from the HTIB [D240]

It actually does not come on, initially I thought, there was some trouble with cabling with double checked everything, nothing seems to be working.

Any ideas ?

I am guessing, this AMP will not work with dead / passive sub woofer ? Am I right or wrong ? Is there something else I am doing wrong here ???

am I to understand that the subwoofer you have is passive (no amplifer in it)?

Sub connections

You will need a powered sub (or amplifier + passive sub) to connect to your receivers line level output for the subwoofer.

Could you kindly also help me with selecting a decent SUB ...
My budget is about £200 ...
