ok here is my question, i had an install three weeks ago and on that install the customer was having a problem with the two units. the pioneer elite 81 rcvr was not getting the dolby digital or dts through the hdmi connection. i know for a fact the receiver's input are working correctly since the customer had an directv hd-dvr also connected with hdmi. i also checked the settings on the dvd player and for some reason they are all correct but i only get pcm instead of dolby digital. and if i were to use the digital connection, the dolby digital will come through. could it be the hdmi version on the receiver (which is hdmi 1.2) or a handshake problem between the two or a dvd problem?
