Just picked up "Pink Floyd at Pompeii" from Best Buy for $10. It is immensely entertaining and contains a lot of good music. Highly recommeded especially at the sale price. Now I have to go finish it and watch Jimmi Hendrix Live at Berkely.

what sucks about that title is I paid 30 bucks a year ago...It is awesome, especially under the influence of whatever you use to alter your state of mind... :D Six pack of Sam Adams does it for me...

TURN IT UP!!!

Pulse is my favorite of their concert footage. I don't think it ever made it to DVD which is really a shame.

Pulse will be available in DVD very soon. (Dolby Digital 5.1).
Meanwhile I recomend:
Roger Waters "In the Flesh" and "The Wall live in Berlin"
David Gillmore "In Concert"
and of course "Live in Pompei"

I heard the Wish You Were Here SACD was nearly complete and soon to be released. After the amazing job they did on DSOtM, I can't wait.

Delicate sound of thunder is one of the greatest concerts ever put on film. When O when is this coming out on DVD in DTS. PULSE was good but it was not as good as DSoT. The version of the Great Gig in the sky with the 3 women gives me goose bumps just thinking about it; Awesome. They will sell a million copies the first day, what the hell are they waiting for?

The full surround mixing of the 1975 album Wish You Were Here is almost finished. Doing any work like this takes time to ensure it is right, and provides the best possible audio experience, but PFM confirm that we are certainly looking at the end of this year for a release of the album in hybrid CD/SACD (Super Audio CD) format.
That's the last I heard. I haven't seen anything on an acutal release date yet. Rumor mill says December, but nothing for certain.

Heh. Do it at a party and people get confused and freaked out.

So how's this for a rumor: I heard it also works on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original). I really don't see how that is humanly possible, and it was most likely a joke. But if you own the movie and have absolutely nothing to do for half an hour, maybe it would be worth it? Also, CatCF doesn't seem like it would really fit into the whole DSotM atmosphere, since it doesn't have the dramatic scene changes like Wizard of Oz.

According to http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/ the Pulse DVD should be out any time now. The Wish You Were here SACD should be out by year's end.

As far as the James Guthrie-mixed DSOTM SACD, I picked it up a few months ago and am generally quite pleased with it. However I recently obtained a DTS, quad-mixed verson of Dark Side originally done by Alan Parsons years ago. While technological advancements available today make Guthrie's mix much more cleaner, the Parsons mix is much more fun to listen to. It's way more adventuresome, which is exactly what's right for this recording. And in the end, I feel who better to tell the surround story of DSOTM than the original recording engineer.
Parsons comments on the Guthrie mix can be found here: http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article.asp?section_id=2&article_id=444&pag

Good selections! I am a lifelong Pink Floyd Fan, and have those four on DVD, and the Wall Live in Berlin on SACD as well. I had Pulse, Pompeii and the Wall concert on VHS too! (they are probably in boxes somewhere still). Waters- In the Flesh is also available on SACD (or DVD audio, I forget which).

I have done that, and not under the influence of anything, and it is quite bizarre! There really are some strange coincidences. I had to pay late fees on my Wizard of Oz rental.
