Me likey very much-y.

Q: why the two BDPs?

Possible tip to explore: You may or may not consider shifting the entire front stage a bit to the left. Maybe the left-front right by where the carpet ends. Of course, you might worry about hitting it when carrying loads of groceries in or something.

But, by doing so, as well as bringing the right-front more to the left as well, and of course the tv/center, 1) your surrounds end up being more equidistant 2) less issue with right-front in the corner (which might cause you right-heavy soundstage, and/or reflective issues).

That center is just way too low man, and its not even angled. There's no way it fits even on the shelf above? Is it possible that the TV stand actually sit on the speaker? (There was a member here who is doing that with his center, and the manufacturer said there was no problem with supporting the weight). If you did do that, you'd have even plane of tweeters for perfect panning. Also, having a center within even just a couple of feet of floor is asking for midbass reflective issues from floor, that will often "cover up" the freq range of where the dialogue lies. Some might recommend a "mickey mouse" band-aid of bumping up its x-over, or some like myself will use acoustical treatment (mine sits on one), but if you put the tv stand on it, I think most problems are already solved.

Just some thoughts. Beautiful towers. Cheers.

Very nice and clean looking. Bet it sounds really good too. ;);) Oh, I would put the center channel speaker on the next shelf up. Looks to be a bit too low imho. Well done! Should really be nice when you get your seating taken care of.

Cheers,

Nice! That's some good looking gear that you've got there.

Thanks, btw, for buying those Evos. I was having a hard time keeping myself from PMing Craig for those! :)

Thanks Adam (you're very welcome, I had promised Craig a picture of them in the new home), Speakerman, Jamie, Jm, and Ej for the compliments on my small setup!

I cannot move the center up a shelf because of the metal rods that support the top shelf, I emailed sanus about the dimensions of this particular av rack and though they could give me shelf dimensions of the facia I had to take a gamble (clearance from audioadvisor for this $280 rack @ $100). I'm tempted to purchase a solid maple 4" riser for the base to move that center closer to the mains.

I have two crappy chairs that I'm using at the moment, but we've ordered an Ikea couch. :D

I purchased a blue-ray player that bitstreams the lossless formats because I've not been impressed with my PS3's PCM output.

The center is curved (Opus Center) so it can't support the TV. :(

I am thinking of moving the whole system to the wall on the right (where the SVS is located) when the couch arrives.

I took some pictures of the speakers with the grills removed. I may as well post them. :)

Please forgive my inability to take decent pictures (new lens).

Looks nice, those Wharfedales are bad to the bone.

Now clean up the wires, paint the room, peel the stickers off the Elite and get some window treatments so the couch will feel at home when it arrives.

What Wharfedale model did you purchase?

There aren't many Wharfedale owners on this site, so I'm curious. :D
I am pretty much just starting out, i was missing a pair of main speakers for the left and right channels, as i was previously just using my bookshelves with a sub, but now have the full 5.1 setup :D (and i am really happy).

I know i dont see why not that many people have the wharfedale range i really like them and they have a cool curved look to them  (so dreamy)

Anyway i got the Diamond 9.5, one range lover than the Evo i think, th entry hi fi speakers. Would have got the opus 1 like you if i had the money (well i will actually when i get the money) and then will move my diamond 9.5's to the surround similar like you. I have pictures up somewhere on this site i will try dig the link up for you.

ok here is the link,
its actually the review i wrote for them since when i was shopping around i did not find anything much on the wharfedale range on this website. So i wrote my own review for anyothers who are considering them. Maybe if you got time you too could write a quick little something about your thoughts on the your evo30 and opus1 for me so i can decide between the 2 for my next upgrade. If i was living in the states you probably would have been competing with me for those evo 30's ;)

anyway here is the link

Very nice system there!

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with Tradius. What or who is it? Sounds mythological.:)

Thanks ParadigmDawg. :) I'll order window treatment tomorrow (payday). I bought some zip ties for the cables, and I'll be peeling off the stickers soon. :D

I've also decided to buy this:

I have a nad 2400 that I'm going to bridge to drive the center, the adcom will drive the mains.

SnappySnoopy

I'll check out your link and review, thanks for taking the time to write a review! :)

Thank you PSW and Croseiv for the complements on the system.

I took a picture of the the rest of the space behind the rear speakers so hopefully you gents can give me some more feedback about possible setup solutions!

I've posted my pictures on the other forum and I'm getting great advice from both, thanks again!

thanks, not many people have checked it out actually, it would be appreciated, most of the posts were on a $2000 speaker suggestion thread, it had some funny and frustrated posters on it i think lol

I just checked out your review, and the only thing I found that you should add is an equipment list, otherwise it was spot-on. :)

You know i really like how all your speaker veneers match, looks really cool :D unfortunately i could not get any in cherry as they were already all gone and went with the rosewood instead, which is also really nice :D but does not match my remaining speakers. Another purchase at the hand of a great sale  a student like myself is a sucker for such sales
